Deborah Gold Live

More About
Deborah Gold
With her rich vocal stylings, not to mention her acoustic/electric guitar and harmonica playing, Deborah Gold pays tribute to the influential artists who shaped rock, pop, uptempo blues, country rock, yacht rock and other genres from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and beyond.

Deborah engages and delights audiences with her energetic and obvious passion for playing live as a solo, in a duo with pro-level lead guitar players, or in a full band, either acoustically or plugged in.

Deborah left home at a very young age spent her earlier years writing,  singing and playing her original music, a passion that has been resurrected in recent years.

“I loved to sit with a stack of vinyl records, cassettes and the radio to sing and play along, teaching myself the chords by ear. I would then venture out to play with others which eventually led me to start playing originals at coffee houses as the warm-up show for touring folk music solos, duos or bands in BC in the late 1970's”.

In the early 1980’s her female duo "Waterloo"  toured extensively in BC and Alberta on a full-time basis. Subsequent to that, Deborah played in numerous Vancouver-based bands such as The Crawl, The Runaway Slaves and Blue Monday, most of which featured a bluesy repertoire.
More recently, Deborah focuses on solo and duo work playing in a variety of locations, including solo residencies at resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and Asia during the winter months.

Deborah spends her summers on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Deborah has often been referred to as the “triple threat”, being amongst a small group of artists with equal prowess at singing, playing guitar and blues harps.

Having these abilities adds an exciting dimension to the musicality, be it solo, duo or occasionally in a full band scenario, always resulting in entertaining and popular live performances with an emphasis on precision and sound quality.

From singing along with radio songs as a child with an innate ability to harmonize by ear,  Deborah has been influenced by many musicians throughout her life more notably and in no particular order– Joni Mitchell, Phoebe Snow, Linda Ronstadt, Robert Johnson, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, Patsy Cline, America, Bonnie Raitt, Judy Collins, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Dusty Springfield, John Prine, Stevie Nicks, James Taylor, Karen Carpenter, Fleetwood Mac, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Joan Armatrading, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Laura Nero, Three Dog Night, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Susan Tedeschi.
