From singing along with radio songs as a child to teaching herself the guitar and playing trumpet in her high school band and with an innate ability to harmonize by ear Deborah’s love for music grew. She left home at a very young age and with that teen angst spent earlier years writing singing and playing her own original music which she hopes to get back to soon. Deborah would then venture out to play with others which eventually led her playing originals at coffee houses as the warm-up show for touring folk music solos, duos or bands in BC. She was contacted by CHBC Okanagan Live and performed 3 of her original tunes on live TV in Kelowna in 1979. Deborah was also a contender earning second place in a contest to play a show at the Vancouver Music Festival in 1981.
In the early 1980’s her all female duo toured extensively in BC and Alberta on a full-time basis.
 
Subsequent to that, Deborah played in numerous Vancouver-based bands such as The Crawl, The Runaway Slaves and Blue Monday, most of which featured a bluesy repertoire. Deborah also played with Tattered Ass, based near Victoria BC, for a few years prior to relocating off the Island in 2014 to Kelowna, BC.
